The Simple Contains The Complex

The bulls are raging and the bears are dancing. It is pure chaos everywhere. Maybe Freud was right when he wrote about the herd instinct. It seems that we are headed toward fate. Free will on the other hand could deliver us from this dilemma of our own making but it is very difficult to implement. To engage free will, we have to individuate. This will take us far from the herd mentality.

Given that it takes us human beings a long time to make personality changes, it is best to take the long term approach. Foresight is the mother of invention. The long road is often more arduous but usually it delivers a lot more understanding. I suppose we are focused on our own personal dramas and this prevents us from looking too far ahead. There are advantages and disadvantages to both paths of action.

The wheels of justice grind slowly. Don’t look for others to fail but concentrate on your own desire to succeed. We are not in a position to judge others. We only see things from our own perspective which may not be all that accurate. Do what is best for yourself and you will be doing what is best for others. But shouldn’t you also be for others?

As King Solomon said, “there is nothing new under the Sun.”
